What is the dosage and how should it be used?
Etodolac comes as a tablet, a capsule, and an extended-release (long-acting) tablet to be taken orally.
To treat arthritis, the tablet and capsule are usually taken two to three times a day and the extended-release tablet is usually taken once a day with food. For this particular condition, your doctor may start you on a low dose of etodolac and gradually increase your dose.
Swallow the extended-release tablets whole. Do not split, chew, or crush them.
Take each dose with a full glass of water (8 ounces).
To help you remember to take etodolac, take it around the same time every day.
It is paramount that you take etodolac exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these instructions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.
Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
